How to Deal With “failed to play Blu-ray disc” During Blu-ray Playback

Blu-ray is a protected video format with region codes, layers of digital rights management, including AACS, and BD+, etc. to avoid being faked, copied, or retroactively applied to an unprotected medium. More and more complicated encrypting and encoding methods will be added. When playing a new protected disc with iDeer Blu-ray Player, en error pops up showing the message “failed to play the disc” or “failed to play Blu-ray disc”, please follow below instructions.

Step one Make a screenshot of the message “failed to play the disc” or “failed to play Blu-ray disc”.

Step Two Export a log file and dat file following below steps.

1. Run iDeer Blu-ray Player, tick 'Debug mode' and 'Disc Sampling Mode' from Help menu.

2. Play the Blu-ray disc that failed to open or play.

3. Wait a moment, a log file and a dat file will be created on your computer Desktop.

The 1st and 2nd steps can not be changed, otherwise the files can not be generated.

Step three Send the screenshot image and 2 files in the email to blurayplayer@ideerapp.com.
